Designed to Help You Solve Your Painful Intercourse Problem

If you suffer from pain during intercourse, or Dyspareunia, you’ll no doubt be aware of the strain it can put on your daily life, as well as your sex life, and before too long this can spiral into a major problem.

Indeed you may well feel that you’ll never truly find a solution for you painful sex problem and it’s understandable that this can leave you feeling down and distressed. You may also find that your sex partner often incorrectly blames them self for the painful intercourse and this can make matters even worse.

And, when this is happening to you it’s very easy to feel that no one fully understands what you are going through, or is prepared to take your Dyspareunia seriously.

Happily, there is a way out this spiral, and whilst there is usually no overnight fix for the pain during intercourse that you experience, with proper history taking, a good deal of patient analysis and careful consideration a solution can be found.

The first step towards resolution for your Dyspareunia condition is making the correct diagnosis and this is where it is very important that you consult an experienced medical doctor, or therapist, that is completely clear in their mind as to when and where you experience painful intercourse.

This is where your input is essential.

Before you talk to your doctor or therapist be very clear in your own mind when it is that you experience the pain. Is the pain or discomfort most noticeable just on penetration, or when your partner is thrusting deep inside you or is it somewhere in between?

Does the position you are in at the time make any difference? Or, does the time within your menstrual cycle make a difference? The answers to questions like these can make it so much easier to arrive at a proper and correct diagnosis.

It is for all these reasons that I have designed this E-book and Online Consultation facility to accurately address your problem on a personal level.

What is Dyspareunia?

Dyspareunia, or painful sex, can be caused by either something inside the vagina or outside, in the pelvic organs.

Inside the vagina some common causes are:

  • Vaginismus (Painful spasm of the vaginal muscles). This is in fact a separate dysfunction also covered in detail on this website. It is mentioned here only because it can be presented by the patient as a primarily Dyspareunia.
  • F emale Sexual Arousal Deficit (FSAD). Again, this is a separate entity covered elsewhere on this website. It is included here only because it too can be confused with primary Dyspareunia.
  • Vaginitis or infection.
  • Perineal tear.
  • Vulva trauma from childbirth

Outside the vagina, Dyspareunia is most commonly caused by:

  • Endometriosis.
  • Ovarian Cyst.
  • Uterine fibroids.
  • Diverticular disease.
  • Pelvic Inflammatory Disease.

Suspicion of the presence of any one of these conditions can be raised through careful history taking and analysis of your responses to specific questions.

To actually confirm these suspicions, may take further diagnostic procedures like an ultrasound or MRI scan. Together we should be able to narrow down the possible causes of your pain during intercourse leaving you free to peruse that line of enquiry further with your doctor.
